Cancer
This is a Reverse Poem, which is read from top to bottom, and then again from bottom to top. This is an attempt at a new form of poetry for me, and I did NOT find it easy! I wrote this poem because my sister Nancy is going through the ravages of pancreatic cancer, which is a very aggressive form of cancer.

Dog Droppings
October has several holidays that involve dogs: Adopt a Dog Month, Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, National Animal Safety and Protection Month, National Pet Wellness Month, and National Pit Bull Awareness Month. Dogs have long played a major role in my life; I’ve had dogs for as long as I can remember. Many of my poems are about my dogs. Sometimes I like to write a poem with a misleading title, such as Dog Droppings. It’s not about what you would expect it to be. I hope you enjoy it!

The Buzzard
I don't deny it -- I'm a dog lover! Basset Hounds lived with me most of the time, and then, after my last basset passed away, I wasn't sure I should adopt another ... or any dog for that matter. I've aged since those b-hound days, and most dogs need walks and lots of exercise. With my legs and feet these days, I'm not able to be as active as most dogs need a human companion to be. Then, this buzzard-of-a-pup popped into my life ... and my heart. Meet Buzz, or The Buzzard, or Buzzard-Boy, as my sister and I often affectionately call him!
