Cancer
Cancer is the enemy!
It spreads its unclean being
throughout the universe.
Cancer is a dirty word, spreading,
conquering young and old alike.
Perhaps it is best to make Cancer a friend,
gaining strength from its encroachment.
How can Cancer be a friend?
It steals time from us all,
perhaps will make us aware.
The treasures we take for granted.
With time running short,
we cherish each moment we are given.
While Cancer strips away the fog of time.
Knowing my sister will soon leave this earth;
she makes my heart weep.
With her presence in my world,
She has been my great comfort.
She is the glue keeping our family together.
What will become of us
when she has moved on?
